Jori Shne' Jackson

Jori Shné Jackson, age 40, was peacefully and unexpectedly called home in her home in Monroeville, Pa. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Jori Shné Thoms was born on February 25, 1980 in Pittsburgh, Pa. from the union of Allen and Lena (McLemore) Thoms. She grew up in West Mifflin, Pa. and was educated at West Mifflin Area High School where she graduated with honors in 1998 (later attended both Carlow College and University of Pittsburgh). Growing up, Jori attended Morning Star Baptist Church in West Mifflin, Pa. and dedicated her life to Christ at the early age of 12. Jori was baptized on November 29, 1992. She loved the Lord and began building a relationship with Him very early on and continued to nurture that relationship throughout her entire life. Jori married her love, Derrick “Boom” Jackson on June 7, 2003. From this union, they were blessed with 4 children: Courtney Allen Jackson (19), Chandler Lané Jackson (15), Blake Lamont Jackson and Braylon Mackenzie Jackson (both 7). This union blossomed for 17 years. Jori was employed as a Customer Service Representative with CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. However, Jori will tell you that her most important career positions were her roles as “Lover/Encourager and #1 duty is Mother/Wife”. Furthermore, she would go on to define her job description as “to love, build, mold, direct, love some more, teach, and accept the position that God had made specifically for her, my goodness what a blessing this was”. Jori loved hard and unconditionally. She also knew her purpose was to encourage, inspire, and support, causing her to act upon it daily. Jori had an uncanny ability to connect with people in a positive and meaningful way. She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like reaching out to her family and friends (both old and new) and spending as much time as possible with her own family, especially “DarDar”. Jori leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Derrick and their 4 children; one stepson, Derrick Fulmore; both her mother and father Allen B. Thoms Jr. and Lena McLemore-Thoms; 3 sisters Temesia (Walter Seibles) Thoms, Raquel Still, Nytasha (Herbert) Walker; 3 nieces (Brandi, Rhya, and Dera), 2 great-nieces (Skylar and Bentley); 2 great-nephews (Jayden and Juliano); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends to name. Jori touched the life of everyone she had encountered in such an impactful way. Her beautiful smile and presence will be missed but her lessons of unconditional love and the value of family will be passed down for generations to come.
