Ralph D Striblin

Ralph DeWayne Striblin, known to his family as “Strib” or “Baney”, was born on April 19, 1947, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to the late Audrey Dendy and Charles Lyles, Sr. Audrey Deny later moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where Ralph completed his education at the Connelly Education Center. Ralph was employed at Mercy Hospital for 33 years; it was at Mercy Hospital where he met the woman who became his wife, Edna Sartin. Edna and Ralph were united in marriage on March 26, 1988, by the late Revered Donald Turner. Ralph accepted the Lord as his Savior and was also baptized by Reverend Turner on August 4, 1991, at 2nd Baptist Church, in Homestead. In addition to his daughter, Shirley Ann; with his marriage to Edna, Ralph became a father to Veronica, Carlos, and Romar Watts. Ralph and Edna also helped raise their oldest two grandchildren, Devin Naylor and Chadaya Harrison. During Ralph’s employment at Mercy Hospital, he was a part-time counselor in the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Department, to mentor those, like him, who needed help. Upon downsizing at Mercy Hospital, Ralph was later hired at AHN West Penn Hospital, in the Material Distribution Department. Ralph was well liked by his supervisors and coworkers. Ralph was a laid back type of man, that was a man of few words, but a lot of humor and wisdom. His favorite statement to his wife was, “When did I buy that outfit!” His pastime was taping and watching Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, his westerns, and his Steelers. Ralph Striblin departed this life on September 23, 2022, surrounded by his devoted wife, Reverend Edna Striblin, his children, and his grandchildren, peacefully in his sleep at 10:20 PM. Ralph is survived by his wife of 34 years, Edna Striblin; their children, Veronica, Carlos, Romar, and Shirley Ann; grandchildren, Devin, Chadaya, Kairi, Taylor, Jy’Onte, Rajhae, Romar Jr., Hannah, Arianna, Noriah, Madison, Dom, Rondell, Antonia, Caleb, Jaymar, Ramier, Kaiya, and Kaiir (Peanut). He also leaves to mourn his passing his mother-in-law, Emma Sartin; sisters, Rev. Debra (Rev. George), Denise, Eldora, and Ardella Nora; brothers, Duncan and Charles Jr.; brother-in-law Robert (Mary); sisters-in-law, Betty Ann, Jeanne, Elaine (Toby)and Jeanette(Terry) Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Deny and Charles Lyles; sister Debra, brothers, James, Elliott, and Vernon. Ralph will also be missed by Second Baptist Church family and friends. Although this is difficult, Edna has comfort knowing that her “Strib” made his peace with the Lord and knows Him as his Savior.
