On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, William Emmitt Manns, also affectionately known as "Bully" entered into eternal rest after an extended illness. William was born on June 17, 1951 to Willie & Helen Manns (deceased) and was part of a loving family that included 6 siblings. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, William was raised in the Hill District and had a great love for his city. William graduated from Schenley High School, wher he met his high school sweetheart, Donna Robinson. They were married on August 24, 1979 and were together for 41 years. William was blessed with three children, Denear Griffin (deceased), Tina Miles & Archie Griffin. Williams was employed at Saga Food at the University of Pittsburgh, and then worked at the Edgar Thompson Steel Mill in Braddock, Pennsylvania where he retired from after 30 years. William was a dedicated and committed employee, who loved to share stories about working at the mill. Following retirement, William enjoyed being a jitney driver, which allowed him to meet all kinds of people and share his stories. No one could tell a story like William, and he loved to hold conversations on sports, movies, history, music, and so much more. He was "old school" to his soul and didn't mind cutting loose singing & dancing to a "back in the day" R&B song. William was a passionate sports fan and totally loyal to his Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved playing basketball in his youth, enjoyed watching TV and was a history buff. He loved working with kids and ran a summer basketball program at St. Richards. He received the Fatherhood Choice Award from Barrett School in 2015. William was loved as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Donna Manns; children Tina Miles and Archie Griffin; sisters Mary Lee (David) Snuffer, Josephine Allen, Florence Manns, Helen (Lester) Williams, and Edith (Richard) Dorsey; in-laws, JoAnn Robinson, Edgar (Geraldine) Robinson, and Marvin Robinson. Williams was preceded in death by his brother Clyde Manns. William was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends
