Clarence Garth Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clarence Garth was born on September 15, 1946 to the late Milligan Garth and Rose (Bose) Garth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As the fourth child of eight children, he grew up on the New Homestead section of the city. He attended Hays Elementary School and Connelly Trade School. During his adulthood, Clancy, as known to family and friends, served in the Vietnam war with the United States Army. He was also united in marriage to Darlene James in 1985, During their 29 years of marriage, they had 3 children and raised 5 children together. Clarence gave his life to God and remained a member of Mt. Rise Baptist Church in New Homestead, PA He lived to hear, read, and study the word of God. Throughout his life Clarence had a love for music, auto mechanics, poetry, and reading. But his true love was family. He was extremely proud of his children and he loved watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family and attending family events. He was always up to telling a great story and having a great laugh. You could always depend on Clancy to offer a helping hand and be there when you needed him. His favorite line was "we family and that's what family does". On June 13, 2015, Clarence was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his parents Milligan and Rose Garth and his brother, John "Louie" Garth. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Darlene Garth, his children, Kevin Garth, Clarence "Peanut" Johnson, Brian Garth, Jared (Tynita) Garth, and Jade Garth. 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Vicky) Garth, Anna Mae Adams, Milligan (Troy) Garth, Jr., Patricia Jefferson, Rose Scott, Florence O'Toole; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
