LaQuinta Garrett-Reeves Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

LaQuinta Garrett, age 49, of Homestead, Pennsylvania, passed away June 7, 2021, at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from pancreatic cancer. LaQuinta Garrett was born on April 29, 1972 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to Francine Marla Smith and the late Rodney Hershel Garrett. She attended Community College of Allegheny County in pursuit of an Associate of Science to become a Pharmacy Technician, A.S.. She worked as a customer service representative for Cardworks and served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Specialist. Although her physical body left this earth after a courageous battle with cancer her life and legacy still remain here. LaQuinta is survived by her husband Sean Reeves of Homestead, Pennsylvania, her three children; Dimond Janelle Moore, Darren Glenn Moore, Jr., DaJai Leeann Moore, and six great grandchildren; K’Mora Nayel Blair, Devon Johnson Brown, Devonna Janell Johnson-Brown, Da’Jon Darren Rivers, Robin Bailey Ford, Ny’Lah Kalona Thomas. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren she is mourned by her four siblings; Kristen Marla Elizabeth Hanks, Mandell Eleph Smith, Raphael Justice Smith, Deidre Janelle Smith. LaQuinta was also preceded in death by her grandmother Carnelia Virginia Lyerly Garrett. LaQuinta loved crochet, indulging in good food, elephants, the beach and more than anything being a mother/grandmother. LaQuinta was beautiful, strong, fearless and resilient. She was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and most of all loved. “The journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take.” J.R.R. Tolkien.
