Rosetta "Polly" Taylor Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rosetta Cornelious was born on June 23, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Burleigh and Estee Patterson Cornelious. She spent her early years in Duquesne, PA before her father gained employment with Jones & Laughlin Steel in Hazelwood and the family relocated close by to the Glen Hazel Housing Development. "Polly", as she was always called by family and friends alike, and her siblings grew up in this closeknit community. In her youth she attended the Second Baptist Church in Homestead under the pastorate of the late Rev. J.D. Morton. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System and graduated from Gladstone High School. Polly was united in marriage to the late Samuel Bunridge, and together they raised 3 children. She worked for a time at the Jewish Home in Squirrel Hill, but for the greater part of her working life she worked for private families. Polly married a second time to Jesse Taylor and this union would produce one son. Polly was the matriarch and her family was the entire focus of her life. She loved them dearly and everything that she did was for their well being; but she was also caring and welcoming to everyone that she knew. She absolutely had a heart of gold. She loved to cook and bake in addition to making the best potato salad and enjoying a good game of bingo. One Thursday, April 24, 2014, Rosetta Taylor went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Bunridge; brother, Nathaniel Cornelious; sisters: Ella Cornelious, Rosie Williams, and Christine Buckner; and niece, Norma Buckner. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory her husband, Jesse Taylor, Sr.; children: Samuel D.(Leslie)Bunridge, Carlos(Sherry)Bunridge, Rhonda Bunridge, and Jesse(Tammy)Taylor, Jr.; siblings: Melvin(Sandy)Cornelious, Bertha(Bill)Lassiter, Catherine Cornelious, Judy Glaze, and Marva Foster; 11 grandchildren: Dana Warren, Aaron Dennis, Carla Dennis, Samuel Bunridge, Jr., Levar Bunridge, Ebony West, Damany Bunridge, Sheronda Williams, Jeron Bunridge, Ronique Bunridge, and Ronna Bunridge; 9 great great grandchildren; other relatives and good friends too numerous to mention.
