Vanessa “Key” Melli Denison, 49, of Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania was born to Mother Yvonne Denison (deceased) and Father Ralph Anderson (deceased) on October 28, 1972. She was the second to the youngest of five children. She lives on through her siblings, Billy, Dana, Yvonne, & Ralph Artice. In her learning years, she attended Wilkinsburg High School. All of her life, she was always a hard working woman. While maintaining jobs up to provide for her family until the day she passed on April 1st, 2022. She was a go-getter! Never lazy about her money. At times her children would ask, “Mom, what’s your favorite color?” She’d reply with “MONEY GREEN!”. Vanessa so dearly loved all 6 of her children. From the oldest to youngest, Shaquille, Tyree, Raymere, Melvin, Dana and Tyra. As she played the motherly role to many, she left a “life of the party” influence on a lot of people. She truly had a nurturing spirit. Key’s soul was contagious, you could not stay away from her for too long. Messages from a few of her children are as follows: “Gone are the days we used to share but in my heart you’re always there. I loved when we would binge watch our favorite shows together. I miss you more now than anybody knows, I love & miss you everyday. For as long as I could remember I have been a mamma’s girl! That was my rock & if you saw me you saw my Mom. Trust me, she wasn’t far behind. For 32 years of my life, I was blessed to have a Mom that had my back 100%. Overall just to have a best friend I can talk to, tell all my secrets, laugh, fight, cry all in one. She was truly one of a kind. The key to my world. Never in a million years did I think that you went into the hospital, that this would happen and you would never walk out of the hospital alive. Honestly, we just thought you were just a lil sick. The night before you passed, we ate and laughed - that was the last time I saw my mother walking and talking. To receive the call that all my best friend’s organs were shutting down was devastating although still in that moment I didn’t think you would leave me. I thought they were gonna run tests & you’d be fine, you just needed to rest . . That’s the day that my faith was at test . . . Why would they take one of the best! My heart will never be at rest.
