    Virgil "Wimpy" Rice

    July 17, 1957 - December 15, 2018

    Virgil "Wimpy" Rice JR 61 lifelong resident of West Mifflin, PA. Born to the late Virgil Rice SR. and the late Jeanette Copper-Rice on July 17, 1957 in Homestead, PA Oldest sibling to Gina Lynne Rice-Cannon(deceased) and Darcel Yvette Rice-Parnell. Wimpy graduated from West Mifflin North High School where he played a variety of sports. His love for sports continued into adulthood where he played softball as a member of the Rankin Buds and the Homestead Grays. Wimpy was joined in matrimony to Beverly Mott in the 1970's. Wimpy was employed by Giant Eagle for many years and he also was a caregiver. He worked side by side with his father in their family business until the doors closed. Wimpy was an active member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the male choir. Wimpy was an avid football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Homestead Grays. His boisterous laugh was infectious. He always greeted you with a hug and kiss and a "that's what I'm sayin" Wimpy leaves behind to cherish his memory. His son Richard Leicht, (3 grandchildren), Step daughters Dawn Wilson (2 grandchildren), Donja Wilson (4 grandchildren), Kathleen Haynes (4 grandchildren) and Sarah Wilson (2 grandchildren); sisters Darcel Yvette Rice-Parnell and Honary sister Shumane Troutman;nieces Shawnte Robinson,Charlese Cannon and Marquia Parnell; nephews Charles "Mann" Cannon JR, Kelvin Parnell JR, Chad Cannon, and Chase Cannon; brothers-in-laws Charles Cannon SR. and Kelvin Parnell SR. His longtime companion Darlene Mason and his faithful sidekick (Little Bit) his dog who was by his side until the end and a host of aunts,uncles , great nieces, nephews, cousins, others relatives and good friends too numerous to mention.
